Conveyancing is the process of preparing documents for the transfer of immovable property from the seller to the purchaser.
A standard conveyancing process involves three types of attorneys:
- Transfer attorney: who deals with the transfer of the property from the seller to the purchaser in deeds office.
- Bond registration attorney who deals with the registration of a mortgage bond favour of the lender over the property in the deeds office.
- Bond cancellation attorney who deals with the cancellation of an existing mortgage bond over the property
It is an admitted attorney who is authorised by the High Court to witness signatures, draw and attest contracts and statements and authenticate the validity of certain documents
Is a copy of the original document authenticated by a Notary Public to prove that it is a true copy of the original by endorsing the document with a Notary Public stamp or seal
